Sir/Madam,
That I am the holder of a credit card issued by your bank, bearing number ending in 2004, and had duly set a transaction limit of ₹50,000 per transaction to safeguard against unauthorized debits.
That on 07 June 2025, the following unauthorized high-value transactions were debited from my credit card account, in clear violation of the transaction limit and without my consent:
1. Rs 3,07,504.80 Debited to credit card account @ 11.18 AM, and transferred to Bharat Global Tech
2. Rs 3,07,504.80 Debited to credit card account @ 11.20 AM, and transferred to Bharat Global Tech
3. Rs 1,84,502.88 Debited to credit card account @ 11.22 AM, and transferred to Bharat Global Tech
4. Rs 9,327.50 Debited to credit card account @ 11.31 AM, and transferred to Antworks Financial
That I immediately raised a complaint on 07 June 2025, and ICICI Bank registered Service Request No. SR1051327946 and initiated an investigation under SR1051743276.
Further we raised the complaint with Cyber cell Complaint No 30806250048479 dated 07th June 25, for fraudulent transactions that have occurred from my credit card No. 4501-7213-3414-2004. We are unable to understand how these large amounts were released without my knowledge and without sharing any OTP with anyone, as I have set a limit of not more than Rs 50000 for a single transaction. How does the transaction below happen? Those are more than Rs 50000 each?
As per the Cyber report attached below, transactions No. 1 to 3 total Rs 7,99,510/= were pending as per cyber report attached for transfer to Ratnakar Bank Limited (RBL) A/C No 1076230011195. Transaction ID/UTR Number REFRMRK transaction Date 07-06-2025 @ 12noon (As per Cyber Report) This happened after we complained to ICICI Bank @ 11.35 AM and a Whats App message for claiming no transaction reported @ 11.25 AM (Message Enclosed) after that transaction had occurred report showed the transaction disputed, and it was also showing in Pending Transaction as per the Cyber report dated 08-06-2025 (Copy Enclosed).
on 07-06-2025 as below :
1. Rs 3,07,504.80 Debited to credit card account @ 11.18 AM, and transferred to Bharat Global Tech
2. Rs 3,07,504.80 Debited to credit card account @ 11.20 AM, and transferred to Bharat Global Tech
3. Rs 1,84,502.88 Debited to credit card account @ 11.22 AM, and transferred to Bharat Global Tech
4. Rs 9,327.50 Debited to credit card account @ 11.31 AM, and transferred to Antworks Financial.
As per the ICICI Bank, fraudulent transactions occurred due to sharing OTP and CVV for Authentication. We have never shared any OTP and CVV Expiry dates. That, despite the OTP authentication claim, I categorically deny having authorized or initiated these transactions. I have not made any mistake; hence, we should not be held responsible for this fraudulent transaction. We did not receive any IVR calls for confirmation of transactions, which we used to get for approval or acceptance of transactions.
Further, as per ICICI Bank email, I have been informed through the IVR Call about the transactions. We confirmed in our earlier emails that we did not receive any IVR calls for these transactions. We received only one WhatsApp message regarding the transaction for acceptance of Rs 3,07,504.80 (only this message was received against 4 transactions); we selected 'No Report txn'. (Message Enclosed for No Report Txn).Then how did the transaction get approved?? Not only this transaction further transactions also approved on my credit card within 7 minutes, which is not acceptable at all; I, categorically deny having authorized or initiated these transactions, We would also like to submit that before the below transaction, we received a message @ 10.32 AM: " Transaction of Rs 102.50 on ICICI Credit Card is on hold for Security reasons, please call our Customer care" (Copy of SMS Transaction Alert Security Reason attached) . We were not able to call because busy in some official meeting at work and did not see the message, then how were the following transactions approved without our call for confirmation?
As per RBI Guidelines, if a customer reports a fraudulent transaction within three working days of receiving a notification and there is no negligence on their part the customer has zero liability. We have reported the transaction within 15 minutes to ICICI Bank Customer care on 07th June 2025. Hence our liability should be Zero and require ICICI Bank to reverse the fraudulent transaction and resolve the complaint.
We forwarded several email copies attached to ICICI Bank with relevant documents for the above fraud and reversal of fraudulent transactions. There was no reply to our emails, and on 25th July, we received a Credit of Rs 4,04,419.99 against the following 4 transactions, email received from the ICICI Bank on 28th July 2025 (Copy Enclosed). That, despite the OTP authentication claim, I categorically deny having authorized or initiated these transactions. I have not made any mistake and shared the OTP,
That the reversal of ₹4,04,419.99 as a “one-time service gesture” on 25July 2025, while appreciated, does not absolve the ICICI bank of its liability for the remaining disputed amount and the mental agony, reputational damage, and financial stress caused.
According to the ICICI team, they are working on resolving the issue. As of 23-09-2025, no reply has been received to date, and there has been a delay despite my continuous follow-ups. ICICI Bank's non-support to customers and attempted to shift the blame to me, claiming that I conducted all the transactions and recovered the money, thereby hiding their team's negligence. The ICICI Bank team does not understand my pain in terms of money loss, Furthermore, as per the statement below, ICICI Bank has debited a late fee and GST for the fraudulent transaction amount; instead, of ICICI Bank Team is working to resolve the issue. Hence, I should not be debited below the late payment fee + GST amount. We are also receiving calls and emails from the ICICI Bank team for payment of fraudulent transactions.
ICICI Bank also put a lien on my savings account (Copy of email attached for lien), and now I am not in a position to pay my bills on time. This is mental harassment from ICICI Bank to the innocent customer who never delays the credit card or any other payment to ICICI Bank, and demands/forces me to pay the fraudulent transaction amount for which I am not responsible and not in a position to pay at this stage, fraudulent transaction amount.
You are requested to look into the matter with utmost sincerity and urgency.
I shall be obliged for your prompt action for the reversal of the above amount.
