I bought a Portronics extension box from their official website. When I raised a complaint that the product I received was defective or dead, they acknowledged the issue. However, they asked me to send the product back at my own expense, and only after that would they send a replacement.

This doesn't seem fair, especially when they are actively selling their products using the same delivery partner who also offers pickup services. Why can't they arrange a pickup and replace the product in the same way?

This issue occurred due to a manufacturing defect. If the product had stopped working after a few days, claiming the warranty would have been an even more difficult task. If Portronics cannot provide proper service in my city, they should not sell their products here. I trusted the Portronics brand, but this experience has broken that trust.
