I am writing this thread to formally lodge a complaint against Ruby Travels and Car Rentals, Udupi.What was meant to be a pleasant trip for me and my wife turned into a deeply stressful and upsetting experience due to the highly unprofessional behaviour of the staff and the person who claimed to be the Manager/Owner of this business.
From the very beginning, after collecting the advance payment, communication with them was difficult and unpleasant. However, the main issue occurred on the last day of our rental.The staff insisted that I return the car earlier than the agreed time because they wanted to leave early. I was told that there were no delivery staff available to collect the car later, and that I would have to pay additional charges if I did not comply. At this point, they were holding my driving licence, and I was clearly told that it would not be returned unless I paid the extra amount.When I requested them to waive the delivery charges since I was returning the car earlier than scheduled, the staff refused and called someone who identified himself as the Manager/Owner. His behaviour was extremely rude and unprofessional. He used words like “bullshit,” told me to “go to school,” asked me to “get lost,” and even threatened me.Because of this situation, my wife and I were left stranded on the street for nearly two hours until our bus arrived. The emotional stress and humiliation we experienced due to this incident were overwhelming and completely unnecessary.
Although they charged us extra money, the primary reason for this complaint is not the financial loss but the disgraceful behaviour, intimidation, and harassment we faced from this business.I strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with Ruby Travels and Car Rentals, Udupi, and I hope appropriate action is taken to prevent others from going through a similar ordeal.
