Sub: Intimation of Repeated problems in Kia Carens Vehicle No. TS08JE5422.
Respected Sir / Madam,
This is to bring to your kind notice that I had purchased Kia Carens Vehicle bearing registration No. TS08JE5422 on 25.08.2022 for your authorized dealer M/s. Vihaan Auto Ventures Pvt Ltd, Y-Junction, Kukatpally, Hyderabad.
Since the date of purchase, I have been getting Alarm "Diesel Filter Regeneration required, check user manual". for every 3 to 4 days. I have given vehicle to your authorized service center Malik Kia (earlier VIHAN) at Y junction Kukatpally, Hyderabad several times. Every time, they are attending something and taking the vehicle to the Road Test more than 100KMs by consuming more fuel, but the issue is still unresolved.
In addition to the above repeated alarm, the following components have failed which service center has replaced under warranty.
a. Clutch.
b. Self motor.
c. Infotainment.
d. AC Evaporator.
The authorized service center has informed that they have replaced the following to address the repeated Alarms.
a. Replacement of temperature sensors on input & output side of DPF.
b. Replacement of fuel injectors.
c. Updation of software.
d. Replacement of Catalytic converter.
Even after replacing the above components also, the problem remains same. I have been informing the problem to Authorized service center for every occurrence through WhatsApp group created by Service center on my account.
Authorized service center has confirmed that replacement of Catalytic converter is the only last option to rectify the repeated alarms and accordingly they have replaced the catalytic converter on 05.03.2025.
Authorized service center has returned the vehicle duly replacing existing catalytic converter with new one on 07.03.2025. Even after replacement of Catalytic Converter also, issues are repeating and I am herewith furnishing the same in chronological order.
• On 18.03.2025, AC has failed and service center has repaired and returned the vehicle on 20.03.2025.
• From last week of March’25 to end of May’25 and 16.06.2025 to 21.06.2025, I was on official tour and vehicle was in parking position only. Moving history of vehicle is available in Kia app.
• DPF alarm has repeated on 23.05.2025
• DPF alarm has repeated on 09.06.2025
• DPF alarm has repeated on 23.06.2025
• DPF alarm has repeated on 02.07.2025
• DPF alarm has repeated on 11.07.2025
• DPF alarm has repeated on 17.07.2025
All above occurrences have been informed to authorized service center through WhatsApp group.
Authorized service center vide email dated 12.06.2025 has confirmed that for repeated short distance travels, the DPF alarms are quite common and recommended to drive the vehicle at a speed of more than 60KMPH or at more than second gear with 2500RPM, for 25Minutes. I am residing in Hyderabad near JNTU, KPHB, above cited both the conditions can’t be fulfilled by me or anyone.
As manual regeneration process is failing, authorized service center has deputed technician to our office on 19.07.2025 for resolving the issue. The technician has suggested to drive the vehicle approx..150KM daily to attain 120 deg.C exhaust temperature, so that the soot accumulated in DPF filter will burn. In this connection, I submit that the distance between my residence and office is just 4KM and it is quite impossible to implement the recommendation of technician.
The above recommendations made by authorized service centers are illogical & irrational to implement. It is surprising that if DPF alarms are common for BS VI vehicles, why authorized service center has attempted to replace the various components.
I am not at all agreeing with the recommendation of Authorized service center because many of my colleagues and close friends are using BS VI Kia cars and no one is facing any troubles like me. One of my colleagues is residing close to my residence he never gets any DPF alarms. The same has been informed to technician of Malik Kia and technician has also checked my colleague vehicle on 19.07.2025 at our office and found that soot accumulation in DPF filter is normal.
As, I have not satisfied with the explanations / justifications being made by Authorized service center, I have started escalating the matter to Kia Customer Care w.e.f 06.12.2024 to 18.07.2025. Unfortunately, I have not received any commitment from Kia Customer Care except the message “Sincerely regret for the inconvenience caused to you”
I am herewith attaching total correspondence made by me with Kia Customer Care and Authorized Service Center Malik Kia for your kind perusal.
The warranty of the vehicle is valid till 25.08.2025 and I lost confidence on Kia and Authorized service center that I will get permanent solution for repeated problems.
I have incurred huge loss from the date of purchase of Vehicle due to repeated problems in addition to wasting my valuable time.
Therefore, I humbly request your kindself to instruct M/s. Kia India Ltd to provide replacement of vehicle at the earliest possible.
Yours faithfully,
(P. Nageswara Rao)
