I recharged my mobile number 9901618040 on 3rd December 2025, but after that the SIM stopped working. I raised a complaint (No. CLCNF3BLR20251208611611). When I visited the Airtel store in Panvel, they informed me that this number is not registered under my name, Animesh Kumar.
I have been using this number since October 26, 2007, purchased from a local shop in Tooranagaalu (Bellary), and it has now been disconnected without any prior notice. When I converted the SIM from 2G to 3G, the Airtel team should have informed me that the number was not registered under my name. I could have taken necessary precautions at that time itself. Now, after being transferred to Maharashtra, my SIM was suddenly blocked right after the recharge.
How is a customer supposed to know that the number does not belong to him, especially when it is linked to my Aadhaar, passport, income tax records, and other accounts, and even the Airtel app displays my name?
The last recharge of ₹929 was done on 3rd December 2025, and the number was disconnected without any intimation. Therefore, Airtel must refund the recharge amount. Additionally, I visited the Airtel store twice, and I am facing both mental and financial distress due to the non-availability of my mobile number for the past 10 days.
