I am a customer of Jio who applied for Jio AirFiber and paid an initial amount for booking. After repeated delays in installation and no response from the company, I was contacted via WhatsApp by a person claiming to be from the “Jio Priority Team.”

This individual already had sensitive internal information including the order number, KYC details, and other confidential data associated with the account. They then connected me to another person claiming to be Jio ground staff, who also had access to the same internal information.

Using this leaked data, the perpetrators convinced me to pay for a 12-month plan with promised cashback. The payment of INR 11732 was made on 02 12 2025. After the transaction, all contact with these individuals ceased, and the payment has not been refunded.

This demonstrates a serious breach of customer data and internal Jio systems, resulting in identity theft and financial fraud.

Relief Requested:
  1. Guidance on legal recourse against Jio for failing to protect customer data.
  2. Assistance in refund of the fraudulent payment
  3. Escalation options to hold the company accountable under consumer protection laws and data protection regulations.

Evidence Available:
  • WhatsApp chats with the fraudulent contacts
  • Payment transaction receipt
  • QR code and communications claiming to be from Jio

This is a formal public complaint seeking advice and support from the community on legal remedies and action against the company for negligence leading to financial loss and data misuse.
