My TDR for PNR 8932340643/8644125617(Train 20414 – Kashi Mahakal SF Express, DOJ: 6 Feb 2026, Indore to Varanasi) has been rejected despite the train being delayed by 9 hours 23 minutes (Arrival 3:08 PM instead of 5:45 AM).
The train was delayed by 9 hours 23 minutes, reaching Varanasi at 3:08 PM instead of 5:45 AM, as per official running status.
Due to this extraordinary delay, my entire travel plan was disrupted and I was unable to undertake the journey. I attempted to file the TDR within the stipulated time; however, the Railway app and website were repeatedly auto-logging out and not allowing submission. I finally managed to file the TDR around 11:00 PM the same day.
The TDR has been rejected stating that it was not filed before departure of the train. However:
• The delay was exceptionally long (more than 9 hours).
• The continuous rescheduling created uncertainty regarding actual departure.
• The technical issue on the app/website prevented timely filing.
• The spirit of the refund rule is to protect passengers in cases of extreme delays, which clearly applies here.
The rejection purely on technical timing grounds despite such an extraordinary delay is causing financial loss to me.
I sincerely request:
I am attaching the delay proof screenshot for reference.
I request your kind intervention for a fair and prompt resolution.

- Reconsideration of my TDR on humanitarian and equitable grounds.
- Approval of full refund considering the 9+ hour delay.
- A detailed clarification of the exact rule applied in my case.
