This is a late post but I am seeking suggestions nonetheless.
In the month of April 2025, I moved my cargo from Delhi to Jamshedpur. However, there are multiple layers to the service.
1. I kept the cargo at the Gati warehouse for approximately a month (paid) because the destination for drop was unclear (we were moving homes in my hometown as well). By the end of April I found a safe location to get the cargo delivered.
2. Household items were delivered and I notified about the damages. I was not heard. He ignored and avoided my calls since.
3. I sent pictures, communicated on whatsapp and calls. Then there were personal issues and commitment which took away my time.
4. Today, in October, I managed to get on a call again and the contact person refused that the transit risk cost (3%) is any form of insurance to the damage. He says it covers accidents and fire only. This clause is not mentioned anywhere.
5. He charged 3% on the declared value of the goods. Now he refused to pay for damages or refund the amount.
What can I do here? Should I proceed to invest time and energy into this or does this seem like a loss I shouldn't overspend on?
