Fraudulent sale and non-provision of Jio AirFiber services — Rs. 2,250 taken; two months unpaid to operator; request for refund & investigation

I, Abhishek, resident of Village Kadi Antri, Post Denthal, Block Manasa, District Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, PIN 458113, submit this complaint about a fraudulent sale and non-provision of Jio AirFiber services by an agent operating from the Jio AirFiber shop in Manasa.




1. Background & payment

  • In October 2025 (3rd oct), I visited the Jio AirFiber shop in Manasa to request an AirFiber connection at my home.
  • The next day, an agent named Vijay Malviya came to my home for inspection and asked me to pay Rs. 2,222, stating that this amount covered a 3-month paid plan and the installation.
  • He assured me the installation would be completed within two days.



2. Installation delay


  • My connection was activated on 5 December 2025, but installation was completed only after 7–8 days, despite multiple reminders through calls and messages (screenshots attached).



3. OTT login and wrongful linking


  • Jio AirFiber plans include OTT services that must be accessed through the customer’s mobile number.
  • When I asked which number my plan was linked to, Vijay admitted it was linked to a colleague’s number, not mine.
  • He promised to change it within 1–2 days, but after 20–30 reminders over two months, he stopped responding completely.
  • The shop was also frequently closed during daytime hours whenever I tried to visit.



4. Service stoppage and demand for more money


  • After around two months, my internet service stopped working.
  • Since Vijay was unreachable, I contacted one of the seniors at the same outlet, explained everything, and he contacted Vijay.
  • Vijay then claimed that my plan had “expired” and asked me to pay again so he could recharge for next two months (Rs. 707) and link it to my number.
  • I reminded him that I had already paid for three months. He recharged for two more months. He then told me to pay for “at least one more month.” I refused.



5. Discovery of fraud (billing proof)


  • Once the connection was finally linked to my number, I checked the billing section.
  • I discovered that the last two months were billed at ₹600 and the plan applied was afmu_60_days_ul, which appears to be a free 60-day plan.
  • This means that Vijay Malviya took Rs. 2,222 from me but did purchase 600 plan from Jio.
  • This also explains why he intentionally avoided linking the connection to my number earlier — because I would have immediately seen the billing details.



6. Inability to contact Jio customer care


  • When I attempted to contact Jio customer care, both chat support and phone support repeatedly responded with:
    “We are experiencing temporary network congestion in your area.”
  • The chat window would close immediately, and the call would disconnect after the same message.
  • As a result, I was unable to raise a service request or complaint through official customer channels, leaving me without support or resolution.



7. Impact on me


  • Financial loss of Rs. 2,222 due to fraudulent misrepresentation.
  • Two months of disrupted or unusable service.
  • Inability to use OTT benefits because the connection was linked to another person’s number.
  • Emotional harassment, continuous follow-ups, and complete lack of response from the agent.
  • Lack of access to Jio’s customer care due to repeated automated “network congestion” messages.



8. Relief sought


I request the following:


  1. A full refund of Rs. 915 + ( money for unable to use OTT for 2 months)
  2. A thorough investigation into the Jio AirFiber Manasa outlet, specifically the conduct of Vijay Malviya.
  3. Corrective action against misuse of plans and fraudulent handling of customer accounts.
  4. Refunds for other customers who may have been similarly cheated.
  5. Assurance that customer care channels remain accessible in cases of service fraud or billing irregularities.



9. Declaration


I confirm the above statements are true to the best of my knowledge. Supporting evidence (chat screenshots, billing screenshots, installation delays, call attempts, and payment proof) is attached.
