Formal Complaint (Just Dial) – Mis-selling, False Verbal Commitments, and Unlawful ECS Enforcement (Recordings Available)

I am submitting this complaint to formally report mis-selling, contradictory policy enforcement, and unfair ECS deductions by JustDial, supported by verifiable call recordings.


I began using JustDial services in October [year], after a JustDial sales representative personally visited my office and explained the service plans. Before agreeing, I clearly stated that I would proceed only if cancellation after one month was allowed in case the service did not deliver results.


The sales representative explicitly confirmed that:


  • Cancellation after one month was possible
  • I could keep the account at zero balance if dissatisfied
  • No further ECS deductions would occur beyond the initial payment

These assurances were verbally recorded, and I have clear audio evidence of these statements.


After using the service, I found that the leads provided were largely irrelevant and unusable, prompting my decision to discontinue. Despite this, an ECS bounce charge of approximately ₹350 was applied for the second month.


When I contacted the same sales executive, he contradicted his earlier statements, denied the commitments he made, and insisted that I must continue for another month. This conversation is also recorded.


Subsequently, when I contacted JustDial customer care, I was informed that I must serve a mandatory three-month notice period, requiring three additional ECS payments, after which the service could be stopped and the initial two-month down payment would lapse. This call is likewise fully recorded.


At no point during onboarding was a three-month notice period clearly disclosed or acknowledged by me. The enforcement of this policy directly contradicts the sales executive’s recorded commitments and constitutes misrepresentation and unfair trade practice.


Given the existence of recorded verbal assurances and contradictory internal communication, I request the following immediate actions:


  1. Immediate termination of my JustDial account
  2. Waiver of all pending and future ECS deductions
  3. Reversal of the ECS bounce charge
  4. Written clarification reconciling sales commitments with company policy

Please note that I am prepared to submit the call recordings as supporting evidence to the JustDial Grievance Cell, Consumer Helpline (1915), and the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission if this matter is not resolved amicably.
