I am Priyotosh Chakraborty. I lived in West Bengal. I would like to file a complaint against Siva Lodge, Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu for unfair trade practices, harassment, and deficiency in service.
I booked a 3-bed room at Siva Lodge for 14–15 January 2026 through MakeMyTrip. The booking was confirmed and paid in advance.
On the day of check-in, after reaching the hotel, the hotel staff informed us that the booked room was not available and forced us to cancel the confirmed booking. They promised that:
We would be given a 4-bed room instead, and
The amount paid for the original booking would be fully refunded.
Initially, we refused to cancel the booking, but the hotel staff pressured and forced us, leaving us with no alternative accommodation. Under pressure, we cancelled the booking as instructed by the hotel.
After cancellation:
No refund was processed for the cancelled booking.
We were also forced to pay separately for the new room.
The hotel has since refused to take responsibility and has not returned the refund amount.
This act caused us financial loss, mental harassment, and inconvenience, especially as we were travelers in an unfamiliar place.
