Details of the Complaint:
The complainant purchased a Motorola Edge 60 mobile phone from Flipkart (Order ID: OD435217576717088100, Invoice No. FAEALS2600119244) on 18th August 2025 at a price of ₹29,424.
On 21st August 2025, the device developed a charging issue. Accordingly, the complainant raised a return request well within the 7-day return window.
Flipkart initially agreed to the return and scheduled a technician visit. The technician, Mr. Yogesh from Jeeves (Flipkart’s partner company), visited on 22nd August 2025 and confirmed the issue.
However, despite the technician’s confirmation, Flipkart deliberately kept the return on hold, citing repeated re-scheduling and cancellation of technician visits between 22nd to 26th August 2025.
After deliberately delaying the process until the return window expired, Flipkart cancelled the return request on the false ground of “Issue resolved by troubleshooting,” despite no resolution being provided and I specifically requested for return . I called up customer care every single day from 22nd to 26th.
By doing so, Flipkart has denied the complainant the rightful replacement/refund and has engaged in unfair trade practice, deficiency in service, and harassment of the consumer.
Grounds of Complaint:
Violation of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Deficiency in service by Flipkart in failing to honour the return request despite technician’s confirmation.
Adoption of unfair trade practice by deliberately delaying till the return window lapsed.
Mental agony, harassment, and financial loss caused to the complainant.
Relief Sought:
Direct Flipkart to refund the full purchase amount of ₹29,424 immediately.
Direct Flipkart to replace the defective device with a new unit, in case refund is not provided.
Award compensation of ₹1,00,000 for mental agony, harassment, and deficiency in service.
Award litigation costs of ₹10,000 to the complainant.
Pass any other relief deemed fit in the interest of justice.
