Respected Sir / Sony India Customer Support team,

I am writing on behalf of Felony Blocker & Innovations Private Limited regarding a serious issue with a Sony LED TV (Model No: Sony 65X82L) purchased on 29th November 2024 from Reliance Digital, Lajpat Nagar, Delhi (Invoice attached for reference). The product was delivered in the first week of December 2024.

To our disappointment, within just three months of use, the TV stopped working on 9th March 2025. We immediately registered a complaint (Customer Complaint No: INCA2500473757), and when your technician inspected the unit, it was found that the motherboard had failed. The technician informed us that the motherboard would be replaced.

As a premium brand, we expect Sony to take such a serious issue with the utmost urgency. We would like to strongly state our concerns:

1. We refuse to accept a mere motherboard replacement for a premium product that has failed within just three months. Such an early failure indicates a manufacturing defect, and we demand a full replacement of the TV rather than a repair.

2. We purchased high-end models from both Sony and LG on the same day. While our LG TV is functioning perfectly, our Sony TV has already developed a critical issue. If LG can ensure reliability, why should we accept a part replacement from Sony instead of a new unit?

3. Why should we have to wait for a week or more for a resolution? When we paid a premium price for a high-end model, we expect a premium level of service and immediate resolution.

Sony is a respected brand with a reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. However, this situation is unacceptable, and we will not take it lightly. This is a major fault on Sony’s part, and we expect an immediate replacement of our TV, not just a part replacement.

We look forward to your urgent resolution of this matter. Please respond at the earliest.

Punjab - Amritsar - Sony India Ltd V/S Satinder Batish W/o Rajeev Kumar Sharma

Smt. Satinder Batish has purchased one Sony Bravia LED TV model XR55A80J for Rs. 1,56,000/- having one year warranty. The said LED TV started malfunctioning. Upon visit of technician and on his inspection, the complainant received an email that the mother board of said TV is not functioning and needs to be replaced. However, by doing minor adjustments, he made the said TV operative and assured that he will come and change the mother board of said LED TV being under warranty. The complainant number of times approached the SONY INDIA and requested to change the said LED panel and mother board of LED TV in question as it was having manufacturing defect but no heed has been given to the genuine request of the complainant by saying that the said product is out of warranty. It is worth to mention here that the said TV is having manufacturing defect which was reported to the SONY INDIA number of times and the complainant requested the opposite parties to replace the said TV with new one being under warranty but to no avail.

Consumer Forum directed the SONY INDIA to replace the LED of the complainant with new one of same make and model and if they are not in a position to replace the LED of the complainant due to non-availability of same LED model in that case the SONY INDIA is liable to refund Rs. 1,56,000/- to the complainant. and also liable to pay Rs. 10000/- as compensation and litigation expenses of Rs. 5000/- to be paid within 45 days.
