Dear Consumer-Complaints Team,
We took DP World Services for transport of our newly made pure teak wood furnitures, from Siliguri, West Bengal, to Hyderabad, Telangana.
The movement services were purchased on 5-Jul-2025, and the furnitures were delivered at our destination home on 14-Jul-2025.
The company took full payment of its services in advance.
After opening the items, we found that almost every furniture had suffered damages, with few ones with serious damages as well. Specifically, the legs of the dining table are broken (irreparable or difficult to repair). Even metallic handles have got twisted.
Looking at the type and extent of the damages, it seems there has been mis-handing at multiple levels. Not only does it seem the furnitures were pressed with other harder items, but also it looks like they have been dropped into the ground, while transferring from one vehicle to the other. As per our awareness, the goods have been transferred between connecting vehicles, atleast twice during the journey - once in Kolkata and then in Hyderabad.
We approached their manager (point of contact) in Siliguri, he gave excuses/clauses like personal items damage cannot be refunded, that "we" didn't tell them they are "fragile" items, and so on. There was no clause for insurance either. Conclusion is that the company doesn't compensate a single penny, and possibly, the company doesn't care.
We are seeking help as compensation for the transmit damage, which is comparable to the Declared Value of the furnitures, which is Rs. 93, 220/-.
Please find copy of the invoice and photos of the damages attached.
Kindly feel free to reach out to me for any additional information.
