I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the recent issue with my OnePlus 8 Glacial Green 6GB+128GB (Model: IN2011). mobile phone's motherboard. I visited your service repair store on 22nd October 2024 due to a continuously restarting problem with my device. After inspection, the service center determined that the motherboard was not working properly due to an update issue from One Plus.
Upon further investigation and research on social media, I discovered that there are numerous complaints from other users experiencing similar problems with their phones after a recent software update from One Plus.
I have personally faced issues in the past as well, including a green line problem caused by a software update which resulted in the replacement of my Screen after a month. This latest incident has truly tested my patience as a loyal customer.
Following the recent update, my phone's motherboard was damaged. When I reached out to your support team, they acknowledged the issue but only offered a small discount on the repair costs. This is unacceptable to me as a consumer. Why should I have to bear the expenses for something that is clearly a result of a fault on your end?
It took one and a half months for you to reply, which is quite unacceptable considering the urgency of the matter.
I must express my dissatisfaction with the service provided at your service center. I had brought in my OnePlus 8 for repair due to a motherboard dead issue caused by your software update. This problem not only affected me but also numerous other customers. Previously, I had encountered the green line issue, and now I am facing the motherboard problem. It is clear that these issues are a result of your faulty software updates and services. I am reluctant to pay a hefty amount for the repair of the motherboard that was damaged because of your company's mistake.

Before filing case in Consumer Forum, we suggest you to send a notice to the Oneplus customer care, mention all the details and ask them for the repair or refund.

Wait for 7 days and if they are not giving you the proper reply, revert us back.

And, if you already emailed them, then kindly share the details.

We have gone through this thread, we suggest you to file a case in Consumer Forum as you have not received any reply from OnePlus.

The process is very simple, you need to create an account in Consumer Commission E-Filing Application

After the verification, you need to upload 4 main files and supporting files.

1) Affidavit
2) Memo of Parties
3) Index
4) Events

And supporting documents like Addhar Card, Jobsheets, Bills etc... (Depending upon the Event file)
