I, Sanket Logade, resident of Dadar, Mumbai, would like to file a formal complaint against Urban Company regarding negligence and damage caused during a refrigerator repair service booked through their app.
I booked a refrigerator repair service expecting professional assistance. On Saturday, a technician named Akbar visited my residence and informed me that there might be a gas leakage causing ice buildup in the freezer. He asked to revisit the next day.
On Sunday, the same technician revisited, shared a quotation, but did not carry out any repair stating that he was neither equipped nor that the work was within his scope. He assured me that another technician would be arranged the same day. However, before leaving, he disconnected the gas connection from the back of the refrigerator as part of his inspection, without informing me that the connection cannot be reattached and requires an authorised brand technician.
Later that evening, another technician visited and stated he would return on Monday. No technician visited on Monday.
After repeated follow-ups, Urban Company rescheduled the visit for Tuesday. A new technician named Saddam Hussein inspected the refrigerator and informed me that the refrigerator could no longer be repaired because the earlier technician had cut the gas pipe from behind. He also confirmed that inspection was possible without disconnecting the gas line and that there was no technical requirement to damage the unit.
As a result of Urban Company’s negligence, my refrigerator is now in worse condition than before the service visit.
Instead of resolving the issue, Urban Company’s senior technician Abhishek Yadav called and offered a compensation of only ₹1,000 and clearly stated that Urban Company would not assist further with repairing the refrigerator.
This is unfair, unprofessional, and against basic consumer rights. The technician’s action caused permanent damage, and the company has failed to provide a proper remedy.
Because of this, I have suffered financial loss, inconvenience, and mental harassment.

- Full responsibility from Urban Company for the damage caused.
- Repair of the refrigerator through an authorised technician at Urban Company’s cost or reimbursement of the full replacement/repair value.

- Proper action against the negligent technicians to avoid such incidents with other customers.
