Respected Sir/Madam,

I, Paramjit Kaur, resident of Ghagga, Tehsil Patran, District Patiala, Punjab, respectfully submit this complaint against the State Bank of India, Branch Ghagga, for deficiency in service, misleading information, and mental and financial harassment.
I hold a savings bank account bearing A/C No. 65279298641 at SBI Ghagga Branch, from where my home loan is also running. About four to five months ago, on the verbal request of the present Branch Manager, Mr. Vinod Kumar, I was advised to apply for a top-up loan.
The Field Officer of the branch, Ms. Kanchanpreet Kaur, repeatedly assured me that my top-up loan had been approved and instructed me to submit all required documents. Relying on their assurances, I submitted all documents strictly as per bank rules, including DA Legal documents and thirteen years of unencumbered lawyer reports, which I prepared after continuous effort for nearly six months by visiting the Tehsil offices through private means.
Subsequently, the Field Officer again confirmed that my top-up loan amounting to approximately ₹30–35 lakhs had been approved. However, to my shock and distress, I was later informed that my loan application had been rejected, without providing any written reason.
Due to this false and misleading information:
I suffered financial loss of approximately ₹72,000, spent on document preparation.
I underwent severe mental stress and harassment.
My valuable time and resources were wasted due to negligence and misrepresentation by bank officials.
I firmly believe that the Branch Manager and Field Officer are responsible for this loss. I also suspect unethical practices, including bribery, by the concerned employees, details of which I am prepared to submit to the competent authority with due permission.
I humbly request the Hon’ble Commission to:
Direct the bank to provide written and valid reasons for rejection of my loan application.
Order an independent inquiry against the concerned bank officials for providing misleading information.
Direct the bank to re-evaluate my top-up loan application fairly.
Grant compensation for financial loss and mental harassment caused due to deficiency in service.
Pass any other order deemed fit in the interest of justice.
I request the Hon’ble Commission to kindly take my complaint seriously and provide me justice at the earliest.
