I am filing a complaint regarding the premature and inexplicable clutch failure in my 2021 MG Hector Plus Diesel, which has only covered approximately 45,000 km.
On March 25, 2025, at an odometer reading of 42,480 km, my vehicle underwent a full preventive maintenance check at an authorized MG service center. During this inspection, the clutch assembly was explicitly declared "satisfactory" by your technical team, as per the official service report.
Shockingly, just 2,490 km later, the clutch completely failed. I am now facing a substantial repair estimate of ₹85,285.21 for a component that should have a significantly longer lifespan, especially after being recently certified as "good" by your own service personnel.
This incident raises critical questions:
This dismissal is highly frustrating and utterly unacceptable. Given the direct contradiction between your service center's recent assessment and the rapid, complete failure, I strongly believe this warrants a thorough investigation by MG Motor India. I expect a proper resolution to this matter, not merely a dismissal based on standard wear-and-tear clauses when a critical part failed so soon after a certified inspection. I seek either a free replacement of the clutch assembly or a substantial reimbursement for the repair costs incurred due to what appears to be either a manufacturing defect or a failure in your service quality.

This incident raises critical questions:
- How can a clutch transition from a "satisfactory" condition to total failure in less than 2,500 km?
- Does this indicate a manufacturing defect in the clutch assembly, or was there a serious lapse in the quality and accuracy of the pre-failure inspection conducted by your service team?
