Subject: Complaint Against Jio Air Fiber for Defective Product, Inadequate Customer Support, and unilateral cancellation without refund of balance amount.

The Honourable Court,

I, P V George, am writing to lodge a formal complaint against Jio Air Fiber for providing a defective product and failing to offer adequate customer support despite repeated requests. When constantly requested for rectification, my connection was cancelled. My repeated request for resuming the connection or repayment of the balance amount was also turned down.

Complaint Summary:

  1. Defective Product: I subscribed to Jio Air Fiber on payment of three months' subscription of Rs.2221.46, and the connection was installed at my residence on 05.11.2024. From the very beginning, I faced persistent issues with unstable network connectivity and my connection was disconnected unilaterally on 22.11.2024 without refunding the advance payment.
  2. Nobody attended the complaint: I raised complaints from the very next day itself, but nobody turned up to rectify the issue, even though each time I was assured some of their engineers would visit and rectify the problem. My numerous attempts to seek assistance from Jio Fiber’s customer support were met with ineffective troubleshooting suggestions that only added to the delay and frustration. Each call merely advised me to check settings or restart the device, despite my clarifications about the defective hardware confirmed by their own online checking
  3. Cancelled the connection unilaterally : During one of my talks with the customer care executive of the company over the phone on 22.11.2024 about the persisting issue, he informed me that my connection is cancelled, hardly after 17 days without refunding the advance payment for three months.
  4. Unhelpful Customer Service: My numerous attempts to seek assistance from Jio Fiber’s customer support were met with ineffective troubleshooting suggestions that only added to the delay and frustration. Each call merely advised me to check settings or restart the device, despite my clarifications about the defective hardware confirmed by their own online checking mechanism.
  5. Loss and Inconvenience: This prolonged delay in receiving a functional connection has caused significant disruption to my work, studies, and other essential tasks that require reliable internet access. The unilateral disconnection, that too, when I paid for three-month amount in advance, is unbearable.
Resolution Sought:
I am seeking the Consumer Forum’s intervention to expedite the following actions:

  1. Immediate resumption of the cancelled connection with rectification of the connectivity problem or refund of the paid amount.
  2. Compensation for the inconvenience and disruption caused by this ordeal, which has resulted in personal and financial loss.
