I am filing this complaint against ICICI Bank and one of its branch officials for unethical and irresponsible behavior which has directly impacted my creditworthiness.
I am a student at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar and had approached the ICICI Bank Karan Nagar, Srinagar to apply for a credit card. At the time of application, my CIBIL score was 729, which met the eligibility criteria as informed by the branch representative named Mubashir (minimum 725).
The official applied for a credit card on my behalf but never communicated any update. Subsequently, he made two more applications without my clear consent or authorization. After each application, he failed to respond or guide me further and follow up as it seemed he deliberately enquired multiple times as he was hesitant in providing me the credit card so that my CIBIL score drops and he gets an excuse on behalf of the bank that I can not apply anymore for the credit card. Due to these repeated hard enquiries on my PAN, my CIBIL score dropped below 710, making me ineligible for the card and damaging my financial credibility.
I strongly believe this was either deliberate negligence or a misuse of the application process. As someone who has worked diligently to build and maintain a good CIBIL score, this experience has caused me immense stress and harm.
Relief Sought:
1. A formal investigation into the actions of the ICICI Bank branch official involved.
2. Clarification on why multiple applications were submitted without documented consent.
3. Steps to rectify the damage caused to my CIBIL score.
4. A written apology and assurance of corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
