Respected Sir/Madam,

I Priyanka Singh, resident of H. No. 601-B, Gali No.6, Govindpuri, Kalkaji, New Delhi-110019, wish to lodge a complaint against HDFC Bank Ltd. for unjustifiably holding an amount of ₹36288/- from my Savings 50100580873790 account since 6th May'25, and failing to resolve the issue even after multiple follow-ups.

Despite raising a complaint and repeatedly contacting their customer service, I was misled with false turnaround times (TATs) and eventually faced disconnection of calls with no resolution provided. This has caused me mental harassment, inconvenience, and financial difficulty.

  1. Immediately release the held amount and credit it to my account/card.
  2. Pay compensation for mental stress and harassment.
All supporting documents and complaint records are attached herewith for your reference.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Priyanka Singh

Hello @Priyanka Singh

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you're experiencing with HDFC Bank regarding the withheld amount of ₹36,288 from your savings account since May 6, 2025. Given the lack of resolution despite multiple follow-ups, it's essential to take structured steps to address this issue effectively.

📝 Summary of Your Complaint

  • Complainant: Priyanka Singh
  • Account Details: Savings Account No. 50100580873790
  • Issue: ₹36,288 withheld since May 6, 2025
  • Attempts Made: Multiple follow-ups with customer service; received misleading turnaround times and experienced call disconnections
  • Impact: Mental harassment, inconvenience, and financial difficulty

  1. Send a Legal Notice:
    • Draft a legal notice addressing HDFC Bank, detailing the grievances and demanding:
      • Unfreeze the amount.
      • Compensation for mental harassment and deficiency in service.
    • Provide a reasonable timeframe (typically 15 days) for them to respond.
  2. File a Complaint in the Consumer Forum:
    • If there's no satisfactory response, lodge a complaint with the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
    • You can file the complaint online via the e-jagriti Platform: Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution, Government of India claiming:
      Refund Amount - ₹ 36,288/-.
Compensation for mental agony and financial loss - ₹ 200000/-.
      Litigation charges - ₹ 5000/-
    • Jurisdiction: Since the amount involved is ₹36,288/-, the complaint falls under the purview of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
    • Procedure:
      • Prepare a detailed complaint outlining all facts, supported by relevant documents (communication records, bank statement, etc.).
      • Submit the complaint along with the requisite court fee (Zero in your case).

If the amount is froze by Cyber Crime Department, then you need to follow other options.
