Respected Sir/Madam,
I, Tarun Kanti Ghosh, a Kolkata Police Personnel working under the Cyber Crime Department, respectfully submit this formal complaint against Byju's Online Gate Coaching for failure to refund my money despite timely course cancellation, unauthorized deductions, and for mentally harassing me through prolonged inaction and false promises.
1. Background:
In March 2023, I was approached by Ms. Simran Bagga, a Byju's employee, who strongly persuaded me to enroll in their UPSC ESE and GATE course, claiming it would benefit my preparation. She took ₹2,000 as a booking fee and collected my salary account details to start the course.
However, within two days of accessing the course, I found it unsuitable and immediately sent a cancellation email, well within Byju’s 15-day cancellation window.
Despite this, Byju’s did not cancel the course. Instead, they deducted ₹3,584 per month for 12 months, amounting to ₹43,008
, in addition to the booking fee of ₹2,000, totaling ₹45008.
Over the next year, I made repeated phone calls and sent several emails, all of which were met with false assurances that my request was forwarded to the finance department, but no refund was issued. This has caused me significant financial hardship and emotional distress.
2. Summary of Financial Loss:
3. Relief Sought:
I respectfully request the Hon’ble Forum to kindly:
4. Documents Enclosed:
Thanking you.
Yours faithfully,
Tarun Kanti Ghosh
