Cheating by Airtel Agent at International Airport Terminal-3 in the name of International Roaming in UAE
Dear Sir,/Madam,
Please note the events as below: -
  • 17-4-2025 4.20 AM: I am traveling from Kochi International Airport Terminal-2 to Abu Dhabi International Airport.
  • I bought a UAE Roaming Package from the AIRTEL Kiosk at the boarding area by paying Rs 899.00. The person sitting at Airtel Kiosk informs that the roaming package would be activated as soon as I land in Abu Dhabi.
  • I landed in Abu Dhabi at 7.30 AM on 17.4.25. In spite of my several attempts, the roaming package did not get activated.
  • I contacted AIRTEL Support via their WhatsApp No. 9910099100. They said they would try to activate UAE Roaming but failed.
  • My further requests for activation of Roaming Service or a refund was declined by Airtel Support by saying that I bought the package from a “retailer”.
  • This was surprising because I had received an SMS message from AIRTEL saying that my recharge of Rs 899 was successful.
I faced a lot of inconvenience and hardships in the UAE because my Airtel Number is the number linked to my bank account.
Since Airtel did not activate my UAE roaming I was not able to make any transactions through my Credit / Debit Cards.
I had to take loans from my friends for my day-to-day expenses.

I feel that a consideration of Rs 2.0 Lakhs is applicable to neutralize the hardships I faced due to this issue.

I request your good office to look into the matter and direct Airtel to refund Rs 899/- plus a compensation of Rs 2.0 Lakhs as soon as possible.

Awaiting your favourable decision,

Regards,
Dr. P R Mohan
