Respected Sir/Madam,
I, Mahesh Kumar, currently residing at Street no. 3 Sarpanch Colony, Jamalpur Ludhiana Pin 141010
wish to lodge a formal complaint against ICICI LOMBARD GENERAL INSURANCE COMPANY
for unfair denial of my vehicle insurance accidental claim under Policy No. 3005/O/385577904/00/000.On 11 Nov2025, my scooter PB07CF6368 met with an accident, for which I duly filed an insurance claim. The insurance company has rejected my claim stating that there was a one-day gap between my previous policy and the new one, and that a vehicle inspection had not been conducted prior to issuance of the new policy.However, the facts are as follows:
1.) The new insurance policy was issued 19 days prior to the expiry of my previous policy, ensuring continuity of coverage.The company did not contact or inform me regarding any inspection requirement before or after issuing the policy document.
2.)I paid the full premium and received the policy certificate, which implies acceptance of the proposal and validation of coverage by the insurer.
3.)The insurance policy was generated with a sms link send to me by insurance company
The claim denial based on alleged procedural lapses that were neither communicated to me nor are attributable to my negligence constitutes deficiency in service and unfair trade practice under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. I believe that insurance policy was issued just to dupe me of my money and they had no intention of honouring any claim in future
Even a day gap between policy running from 8 months can be ignored if there was any intention to honour the claim
I, therefore, request the Hon’ble Forum to kindly direct the insurance company to honour my claim and release the due compensation amount.
Award compensation for mental harassment and financial inconvenience caused by this unjust denial.
Impose costs or penalties on the insurer for deficiency in service.I am enclosing copies of the following documents for your reference:
Previous and current insurance policies.
Email copy of policy document received on 22 March 2025 stating premium paid received I request your kind intervention for justice in this matter.
