Subject: Urgent Escalation – Defective Casio Watch Glass & Unjustified Repair Charges


Dear Sir/Madam,


I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the service response I have received for my Casio watch.


  • Product Purchased: Casio Watch
  • Purchase Date: 06.09.2021
  • Purchase Location: Crystal Mall, Rajkot
  • Problem Noticed: Glass developing visibility issues (within 8 months of usage under normal conditions)

Timeline of events:


  1. Initially, I approached the Just in Time showroom at Crystal Mall, who sent the watch to the service station. After nearly a month, they quoted INR 6,500 for repair, without acknowledging it as a product issue.
  2. Dissatisfied, I took back my watch and directly contacted the Casio service station in Delhi. They asked me to send the watch for inspection, which I did.
  3. On 19.09.2025, I received a mail again demanding INR 6,500 for repair, with a warning that if not approved within 15 days, the product will be returned unrepaired.

I strongly believe this is a manufacturing defect in the glass and not a result of mishandling. Quoting such a high amount for repair, without taking responsibility for product quality, is extremely unfair and not in line with Casio’s reputation.


My Requests:


  • Kindly waive the repair charges and arrange a free repair or replacement with lower value watch
  • If that is not possible, please provide a written explanation as to why this issue is not covered under warranty or goodwill support.

I value the Casio brand and trust that you will handle this matter fairly. If unresolved, I will have no choice but to escalate this complaint to Consumer Forum and other relevant authorities.

I purchased a Casio G-1056 watch on 06.09.2021 from Just in Time, Crystal Mall, Rajkot, at a price of INR 11,000.

For the past 8 months, the watch has developed a glass visibility issue, despite being carefully used.

I would like to raise the following concerns:

The watch is only 4 years old, and such a visibility issue with the glass is highly unexpected from a premium Casio product.

If the solution is to replace the whole case at more than half the cost of the watch, it questions the value of investing in a Casio product. A lower-priced watch of INR 3,000 could have served equally if the glass deteriorates every 4 years.

I am willing to bear repair costs if the fault is from my end. However, I strongly feel that in this case, the problem lies in the glass quality used by the company.

I request you to kindly:

Reconsider the repair policy for this case.

Offer a reasonable solution or goodwill replacement.

Ensure that customers do not feel penalized for trusting Casio’s premium pricing.
