I purchased a gas stove from Amazon under an exchange offer. After receiving the product, I found that it was defective because the burner’s auto-ignition feature was not working properly. Therefore, I initiated a return request and returned the product as per Amazon’s instructions. However, Amazon refunded only a part of the payment and failed to refund the amount corresponding to the exchanged product. Moreover, my old gas stove, which was taken during the exchange process, was not returned to me. Despite multiple follow-ups with Amazon customer service and several complaint tickets, the issue has not been resolved and my concerns have been ignored. This clearly amounts to deficiency in service and unfair trade practice under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Hence, I request the competent consumer authority to direct Amazon to refund the remaining amount, compensate me for the value of the exchanged product, and impose an appropriate penalty for the inconvenience, harassment, and financial loss caused to me.
