I wanted to bring to the notice of people how Airtel is indirectly blocking it’s customers from exiting
I had 1 prepaid and 1 postpaid number from airtel in chennai, postpaid was n some gold plan of 249 per month, when I moved to bangalore the plan expiry notice came and I was moved to 299 plan, within 6 months of that again a plan expiry notice came and I was charged 349 on a 449 plan as a loayalty discount or something.
Then I was given a offer to add family member at at additional 250 per month, foolishly I decided to convert
My prepaid which was still in chennai in to postpaid and add to family plan
The next month my plan got changed to 699 and all my so called loyalty benefits were removed. When contacted customer care the were so indifferent that they said I I am not interested in paying I can remove one or both of my number(so much for loyalty).
After about 4-5 months I decided to remove my 2nd number from the plan, for which I had to settle payment in middle of month which I did and the. Found that my primary number was still being billed on the family plan though the 2nd number was removed. And the 2nd number now independent was being billed at 449.
I then requested to change to prepaid which they said will take time and after waiting for 2 days I raised the request again, now they again said there 103 rs charged for the usage period (103 for 2 days) after which only I can convert.
I paid that and after 4 hrs it changed to prepaid with 1 day validity.
Now when I tried to put a voice only plan for it I found that there is only 1 annual plan with 3599 and there are no other annual plans
When called airte asking why it’s not there when trai has mandated voice only
Plans the checked and said only 1 plan of 199 per month is available
So net net I am going to spend more than my family plan 2nd connection cost to Lee my reconverted prepaid active.
Where is the so called transparency and cost effective telc service which team and regulators are so proud about??
Impossible to exit impossible to migrate to bsnl which again is being promoted as cheapest but no one can migrate to it easily
Tried to raise this issue on trai website about no voice only plan or Annu’s value plans provided by airtel, but trai just redirected to a airtel address and phone number to raise complaint against
I am not seeing Jio or vi to be any better, India going towards monopoly and duopoly in almost all sectors making common person life miserable
