Subject: Complaint Against JioMart for Unfair Forfeiture of Gift Card Balance Amounting to ₹2,800
Respected Sir/Madam,
I am filing this complaint against JioMart regarding an unfair and non-transparent forfeiture of my legally purchased gift card balance.
I purchased two JioMart gift cards worth ₹2,000 each, totaling ₹4,000. The details are as follows:
Gift Card 1:
Value – ₹2,000
Voucher GC Code – 4114918493108811
Voucher GUID – 07f03a73-5e2f-4178-b6ec-8b31b4b99566
Voucher ID – 197851126
Gift Card 2:
Value – ₹2,000
Voucher GC Code – 4114918864037478
Voucher GUID – b4212ca6-6aac-4524-801a-1a1e0eeff2f2
Voucher ID – 197851127
Upon reviewing my order history, I observed that I have utilized only approximately ₹600 from each gift card. However, both gift cards are now reflecting as “Already Used,” with no option to check the remaining balance and no clarity regarding how or when the entire amount was consumed.
This has resulted in an effective loss of nearly ₹2,800 of my own money.
There was no clear warning during redemption that the entire voucher value would be forfeited if not used fully in a single transaction. At no stage was I given transparent visibility of balance deduction or informed that unused amounts would lapse irreversibly.
This practice is unfair, misleading, and causes direct financial loss to the consumer. I paid ₹4,000 in good faith and used only a small portion. It is unjust and unreasonable for the remaining balance to be forfeited without proper disclosure and customer consent.
I seek the following relief:
I request the Hon’ble Commission to kindly intervene and direct the company to refund or restore the remaining amount and ensure that such unfair trade practices are addressed.
Thanking you.
Sincerely,
Imran
