I am raising this complaint against Agarwal Packers & Movers – Bade Bhaiya regarding the loss of household items from my consignment during transportation.

I booked packing and moving services for my household belongings. The goods were picked up on 9 June 2026 and delivered on 18 June 2026 under GC/Consignment No. 5032577 and Booking/Reference No. 3388090.

At the time of delivery, I observed that the consignment/package appeared to have been tampered with and was sealed differently from its original condition. During unpacking, I discovered that several household items were missing. The total documented value of the missing items is approximately ₹53,490. I have invoices and supporting documents available to substantiate the value of the missing belongings.

The missing items include household utensils, electrical appliances, household linen, clothing and other personal belongings. A detailed item-wise list and values were already provided to the company.

Despite reporting the shortage and providing the details, the company initially offered compensation of only ₹1,000 and subsequently offered ₹2,000. I have rejected these amounts as they are grossly disproportionate to the actual value of the missing items.

This matter does not concern ordinary transit damage. The items were not damaged; they were missing from the consignment after it had been entrusted to the company for transportation. The apparent change in sealing/condition of the package also raises concerns regarding possible tampering, shortage or pilferage while the goods were in the company's custody.

I have repeatedly requested the company to investigate the matter and provide:

  1. A detailed investigation report concerning the missing items and apparent tampering.
  2. The basis and calculation used to determine the compensation offered.
  3. The specific terms and conditions relied upon to limit the company's liability.
  4. Details of the handling and transit history of the consignment.
  5. Copies of the packing, inventory, delivery/POD and inspection records relating to the consignment.
However, the compensation offered remains inadequate and I have not received a satisfactory resolution or adequate justification for the amount offered.

I therefore request the appropriate consumer authority to intervene and direct the company to investigate the shortage/tampering and provide appropriate compensation for the documented loss of ₹53,490, along with suitable relief for the deficiency in service, inconvenience and harassment caused.

I am able to provide the invoices, photographs, correspondence with the company, consignment documents and the detailed list of missing items as supporting evidence.

Consignment details:
GC/Consignment No.: 5032577
Booking/Reference No.: 3388090
Date of Booking: 8 June 2026
Date of Pickup: 9 June 2026
Date of Delivery: 18 June 2026

I request that the company be directed to preserve and produce all relevant records, including CCTV footage, warehouse/handling records, scanning records, transit records, inventory/packing records, photographs and delivery documentation, wherever available.

I seek a fair resolution and compensation corresponding to the actual documented loss of ₹53,490 rather than the inadequate ₹2,000 compensation offered by the company.
